BEIJING (Reuters) - Pfizer Inc will stop producing biosimilar products in China and sell a unit in the eastern city of Hangzhou to WuXi Biologics Inc, the U.S. drugmaker said on Wednesday.

The pharmaceutical industry increasingly relies on costly biologic drugs, made from living organisms that are tougher and more expensive to make than conventional medicines with chemical ingredients.
“The site was planned to manufacture three biosimilars for the China market,” the company said in a response to Reuters’ questions.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - In a quiet, mainly residential district of Singapore, trays of writhing black soldier fly larvae munch their way through hundreds of kilograms of food waste a day.
The protein-rich maggots can be sold for pet food or fertiliser, but at Insectta - a startup that says it is Singapore’s first urban insect farm - they are bred to extract biomaterials that can be used in pharmaceuticals and electronics.
“What these black soldier flies enable us to do is transform this food waste, which is a negative-value product, into a positive-value product,” said Chua Kai-Ning, Insectta’s co-founder and chief marketing officer.
2021/03/17 ANDRITZ has received an order from the Danish energy company Fjernvarme Fyn Produktion A/S to deliver a new biomass boiler plant complete with auxiliary equipment for their Bio Blok 2 project. The plant will be located on Fjernvarme Fyn s existing combined heat and power plant site in Odense, on the island of Funen in Denmark, some 170 km west of the capital Copenhagen. This new plant will supply district heat to the Odense area and is also prepared for electricity production at a later stage. Start-up of the boiler is scheduled for 2023.
